About 75 students, faculty, and staff members attended Tunxis Community College’s fifth Forum on News Media on Wednesday, March 28. The topic for discussion was online publishing of newspapers. Panelists were Jenifer Frank, editor of the online Connecticut Mirror (www.ctmirror.org); Doug Hardy, business manager of Connecticut News Junkie (www.ctnewsjunkie.com); and Jackie Majerus and Steve Collins, co-founders of Youth Journalism International, which publishes news articles written by high-school age students from around the world (www.youthjournalism.org)

This year’s Humanities Spring Writer event featured comedian Chris Tabb who spoke about what it takes to be a comedian and the process he uses to write and revise material for a variety of audiences. He followed the Poetry Slam and the CT Poetry Circuit Student Poets. This event was put together through the efforts of Patrice Hamilton and Sandy Kovach.
