Solstice Concert to benefit the CT Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra

ConKerr Cancer started when Cindy Kerr’s son was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and she began making pillowcases to brighten up his hospital room and to put a smile on his face.
In over three years, ConKerr Cancer has delivered nearly 400,000 cheerful pillowcases to sick children in hospitals across the country and established 125 chapters They serve children in 225 hospitals and pediatric hospices across the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Isreal.
On June 17, 2011, Maggie Carlin and Patricia McDermott organized an event , “Pleasant Dreams from Tunxis Community College” to benefit ConKerr Cancer. Over 20 members of the Tunxis community donated their time, fabric and money. The result was 45 very colorful pillowcases to be sent to the non-profit ConKerr Cancer.
On June 1, 2011 Tunxis Community College held its commencement ceremony. There were a record number of graduates and Dr. Janis Hadley served as keynote speaker.
